The Nigerian stock market on Tuesday closed on a bearish note as the All Share Index depreciated by 0.27% to close at 39,219.61points from the previous close of 39,326.67 points.
The Market Capitalisation declined by 0.27% to close at N20.434 trillion from the previous close of N20.490 trillion, thereby shedding N56 billion.
An aggregate of 425.66 million units of shares were traded in 4,553 deals, valued at N1.967 billion.
The Market Breadth closed negative as 16 equities appreciated in their share prices against 27 equities that declined in their share prices.
Percentage Gainers
Transcorp Hotel led other gainers with 10% growth, closing at N5.17 from the previous close of N4.70.
Honeywell Flour, Morison and FTN Cocoa among other gainers also grew their share prices by 9.74%, 9.73% and 9.62% respectively.
Percentage Losers
Nigerian Breweries led other price decliners as it shed 9.93% of its share price, closing at N49.45 from the previous close of N54.90.
Livestock, LASACO and UPDC among other price decliners also shed their share prices by 9.83%, 9.74% and 7.46% respectively.
Volume Drivers
Transcorp traded about 111.07 million units of its shares in 269 deals, valued at N99.98 million.
Chams Plc traded about 57.55 million units of its shares in 122 deals valued at N12.11 million.
Honeywell Flour traded about 31.63 million units of its shares in 497 deals, valued at N130.76 million.
