Eterna Plc leads other gainers as All Share Index closes flat

Trading activities on the floor of the Nigerian Stock Exchange on Wednesday closed flat as the All Share Index closed at 24,173.53 points, relatively same with the previous close of 24,174.45 points on Tuesday.

Market Capitalisation closed at N12.610 trillion, marginally down by 0.01% from the previous close of N12.611 trillion.

An aggregate of 402.64 million units of shares were traded in 3,252 deals, valued at N4.55 billion.

 

Market Breadth

The market breadth closed firm as 9 equities appreciated in their share prices against 9 equities that declined in their share prices.

 

Percentage Gainers

Eternal Plc led other percentage gainers with 8.89% growth, closing at N1.96 from the previous close of N1.80.

May & Baker, NPF Microfinance Bank and Neimeth Pharmaceuticals among other gainers also grew their share prices by 7.91%, 7.58% and 7.14% respectively.

 

Percentage Losers

Glaxosmith led other price decliners as it shed 9.52% of its share price to close at N4.75 from the previous close of N5.25.

Consolidated Hallmark Insurance and Prestige Assurance among other price decliners also shed their share prices by 8.16% and 6.12% respectively.

 

Volume Drivers

  • Nigerian Breweries traded about 52.62 million units of its shares in 88 deals, valued at about N1.63 billion.
  • Multiverse traded about 50 million units of its shares in 1 deals, valued at N10 million.
  • Sterling Bank traded about 29.2 million units of its shares in 140 deals, valued at N35.73 million.
