Nigerian Bourse sheds N68bn as it closes 0.53% lower, Tuesday  

Trading activities on the floor of the Nigerian Stock Exchange on Tuesday closed in red as the All Share Index dropped by 0.53% to close at 26,244.39 points from the previous close of 26,384.45 points on Monday.

Market Capitalisation closed at N12.776 trillion, shedding N68 billion from the previous close of N12.844 trillion on Monday.

Aggregate volume of traded stocks closed at 267.9 million units, valued at N2.77 billion in 2,967 deals.

 

Market Breadth

The market breadth closed positive as 13 stocks gained while 10 stocks declined in their share prices.

Percentage Gainers

Red Star Express Plc led the gainers’ list with 9.88% growth, closing at N4.45 from the previous close of N4.05.

Cornerstone Insurance, AIICO and Glaxosmith among other gainers also grew their share prices by 9.76%, 9.52% and 8.62% respectively.

Percentage Losers

Chams, NAHCO and WAPCO (Larfarge) among other price decliners shed their share prices by 4.35%, 4.08 and 4.01% respectively.

Volume Drivers

Guaranty Trust Bank traded about 42.28 million units of its shares in 274 deals, valued at N1.08 billion.
