Trading activities on the floor of the Nigerian Exchange (NGX) last week remained upbeat following successive uptrend throughout the entire weeks in the month of June.
The gain last week was buoyed by buying interests in NEIMETH, MTN Nigeria and other 76 stocks that appreciated in value.
The All Share Index and Market Capitalisation last week grew by 1.57% and 1.92% to stand at 119,995.76 points and N75.962 trillion respectively. the Year-to-Date (YtD), the market has returned 16.58%.
All other indices finished higher with the exception of NGX Oil and Gas Index, which declined by 2.23%.
An aggregate of 3.9 billion units of shares were traded in 114,484 deals, valued at N102 billion.
The market breadth closed positive as 78 equities emerged as gainers while 27 equities declined in their share prices.
TOP 10 GAINERS
NEIMETH led the gainers’ chart with 60.54% to close at N5.94 from the previous close of N3.70.
ELLAHLAKES, International Breweries, CWG and Champion Breweries grew their share prices by 31.33%, 26.36%, 25.00% and 21.95% respectively.
Others among top 10 gainers include: LEARNAFRICA 21.72%, BETAGLASS 21.00%, Guinea Insurance 20.00%, CAVERTON 19.72% and JOHNHOLT 19.35% respectively.
TOP 10 LOSERS
MULTIVERSE led other price decliners as it shed 9.33% of its share price to close at N8.75 from the previous close of N9.65.
ABC Transport, OANDO, BUA Food and DAAR COMMUNICATION among other price decliners shed their share prices by 9.26%, 7.38%, 6.46% and 6.15% respectively.
Others among top 10 price decliners include: MCNICHOLS (4.82%), MEYER (4.69%), IMG (4.30%), ARADEL (4.15%) and FCMB (3.55%) respectively.
