The Nigerian stock market on Wednesday closed on a positive note as the All Share Index rose further by 0.62 percent to settle at 22,868.40 points from the previous close of 22,727.87 points on Tuesday.
Investors gain N73 billion as market capitalisation grew by 0.62 percent to close at N11.918 trillion from the previous close of N11.845 trillion on Tuesday.
Aggregate volume of traded stocks closed at 277.43 million units, up by 4.05 percent from the previous close of 266.63 million units.
Value of traded stocks was N2.55 billion, down by 7.44% from the previous close of N2.75 billion.
Total number of deals at the close of trade was 4,464; up by 4.81 percent from the previous close of 4,259 deals.
Market Breadth
The market breadth closed positive as 14 equities appreciated in their share prices while 12 equities declined in their share prices.
Percentage Gainers
Courtville led other percentage gainers with 10% growth, closing at N0.22 from the previous close of N0.20.
Vitafoam, Ardova Plc (Forte Oil) and UACN among other gainers also grew their share prices by 9.98%, 9.95% and 9.68% respectively.
Percentage Losers
Eterna Plc led other price decliners, shedding 9.62 percent of its share price to close at N2.16 from the previous close of N2.39.
University Press, LASACO and Cornerstone Insurance among other price decliners shed their share prices by 7.62%, 7.14% and 6.78% respectively.
Volume Drivers
First Bank of Nigeria Holdings (FBNH) traded about 56.62 million units of its shares in 399 deals, valued at N256.86 million.
UBA traded about 52.77 million units of its shares in 198 deals, valued at 318.44 million.
