Positive sentiment persists on the floor of the Nigerian Stock Exchange as trading activities on Wednesday closed on a positive note. The All Share Index at the close of trade appreciated by 1.58% to settle at 29,437.60 points from the previous close of 28,980.29 points.
Investors gain N239 billion as Market Capitalisation appreciated by 1.58% to close at N15.387 trillion from the previous close of N15.148 trillion.
An aggregate of 375.25 million units of shares were traded in 5,947 deals, valued at N4.63 billion.
Market Breadth
The market breadth closed positive as 41 equities gained while 5 equities declined in their share prices.
Percentage Gainers
Nestle and Custodian Investment both led other gainers with 10% growth to close at N1292.5 and N6.05 respectively.
NEM Insurance, International Breweries and FCMB among other gainers also grew their share prices by 9.85%, 9.84% and 9.81% respectively.
Percentage Losers
Royal Exchange Assurance led other price decliners as it shed 8% of it share price to close at N0.23 from the previous close of N0.25.
Other price decliners include Cutix Plc (-6.84%), Honeywell Flour (1.03%), Africa Prudential (0.85%) and May & Baker (0.33%).
Volume Drivers
Zenith Bank traded about 46.66 million units of its shares in 510 deals, valued at N1billion.
Fidelity Bank traded about 33.46 million units of its shares in 281 deals, valued at N76.05 million.
Ecobank traded about 27.53 million units of its shares in 302 deals, valued at N157 million.
