Stock market sheds N6bn as NGXASI dips by 0.03%

The stock market on Wednesday closed on a bearish note as the All Share Index depreciated by 0.03% to close at 39,449.82 points from the previous close of 39,460.68 points.

The Market Capitalisation depreciated by 0.03% close N20.554 trillion from the previous close of N20.560 trillion, thereby shedding N6 billion.

An aggregate of 198.33 million units of shares were traded in 3,336 deals, valued at N1.056 billion.

The Market Breadth negative as 17 equities appreciated in their share prices against 19 equities that declined in their share prices.

Percentage Gainers

Capital Hotel and Eterna Plc led other gainers with 10% growth to close at N3.19 and N6.82 respectively.

Morison Industries, Transcorp Hotel and UDPC among other gainers also grew their share prices by 9.74%, 9.30% and 9.22% respectively.

Percentage Losers

Academy Press led other price decliners as it shed 9.76% of its share price, closing at N0.37 from the previous close of N0.41.

Pharmadeko and Mutual Benefits Assurance among other price decliners also shed their share prices by 9.52% and 8.57% respectively.

Volume Drivers

Sovereign Trust Insurance traded about 48.38 million units of its shares in 70 deals, valued at N11.17 million.

Mutual Benefits Assurance traded about 27.09 million units of its shares in 48 deals valued at N8.71 million.

Jaiz Bank traded about 10.90 million units of its shares in 43 deals, valued at N6.79 million.
