Transactions on the floor of the Nigerian Stock Exchange on Wednesday closed on a negative note as the All Share Index declined by 0.38% to settle at 24,655.05 points againt the previous close of 24,750.06 points on Tuesday.
Market Capitalisation closed at N12.862 trillion, down by 0.38% from the previous close of N12.911 trillion, thereby shedding N49 billion.
An aggregate of 189.25 million units of shares were traded in 3,364 deals, valued at N1.9 billion.
Market Breadth
The market breadth closed negative as 17 equities gained while 22 equities declined in their share prices.
Percentage Gainers
Chams Plc led other percentage gainers with 9.52% growth, closing at N0.23 from the previous close of N0.21
Champions Breweries, Unity Bank and AIICO Insurance among other gainers also grew their share prices by 7.95%, 7.41% and 6.67%.
Percentage Losers
PZ led other price decliners as it shed 10% of its share price to close at N4.05 from the previous close of N4.50.
Seplat, International Breweries, Arbico and Neimeth Pharmaceuticals among other prices decliners shed 9.98%, 9.89%, 9.57% and 9.52% respectively.
Volume Drivers
- First Bank of Nigeria Holdings traded 44.45 million units of its shares in 177 deals, valued at N241 million.
- Zenith Bank traded 21.35 million units of its shares in 249 deals, valued at N349.37 million.
- Access Bank traded about 18.87 million units of its shares in 190 deals, valued at N124.6 million.
