Stock market returns -0.55% WoW as 46 equities shed weight

The Nigerian stock market last week closed bearish as 46 stocks shed their weights.

The All Share Index and Market capitalization declined by 0.55% to settle at 105,955.13 points and N66.352 trillion respectively.

An aggregate of 3.28 billion units of shares were traded in 60,782 deals, valued at N11 billion.

The market breadth closed negative as only 38 stocks gained against 46 stocks that declined in their share prices WoW.

TOP 10 GAINERS

Livestock Feeds led other gainers in the course of last week with 22.16% growth, closing at N10.20 from the previous close of N8.35.

CAVERTON, FTN COCOA, CWG and TANTALIZER grew their share prices by 15.38%, 14.20%, 13.21% and 13.13% respectively.

Others among the top 10 gainers include: Royal Exchange 12.82%, ETERNA OIL 11.27%, Cornerstone Insurance 10.41%, UPDCREIT 10.17% and May & Baker 9.43% respectively.

TOP 10 LOSERS

NEIMETH led other price decliners, shedding 17% of its share price to close at N2.49 from the previous close of N3.00.

MECURE, International Energy Insurance, CONOIL and University Press shed 10.36%, 10.26%, 10.00% and 10.00% respectively.

Other price decliners includes VFDGROUP (9.92%), Julius Berger (9.81%), Academy Press (9.66%), CADBURY (8.00%) and OMATEK (7.89%) respectively.
