Stock market rebounds with 1.05% growth, investors gain N298bn

The Nigerian stock market on Thursday closed on a bullish note, occasioned by 5.68% gain in MTN and 20 other gainers.

The All Share Index appreciated by 1.05% to close at 53,275.49 points from the previous close of 52,721.34 points.

Investors gained N298 billion as the Market Capitalisation grew by 1.05% to close at N28.721 trillion from the previous close of N28.423 trillion.

An aggregate of 274.56 million units of shares were traded in 5,184 deals, valued at N8.45 billion.

Market Breadth

The market breadth closed negative as 21 stocks gained against 29 stocks that declined in their share prices.

Percentage Gainers

Transcorp Hotel led other gainers with 9.89% growth, closing at N5.89 from the previous close of N5.36.

Beta Glass and MCNICHOLS among other gainers also grew their share prices by 9.74% and 9.60% respectively.

Percentage Losers

Conoil led other price decliners as it shed 10% of its share price to close at N28.35 from the previous close of N31.5.

Eterna Plc and Prestige Assurance among other price decliners also shed their share prices by 9.59% and 9.09% respectively.

Volume Drivers

Transcorp traded about 48.38 million units of its shares in 250 deals, valued at N61.43 million.

MTN traded about 20.60 million units of its shares in 432 deals, valued at about N5.49 billion.

Conoil traded about 14.34 million units of its shares in 72 deals, valued at N409 million.
