The Nigerian Exchange on Monday closed on a bullish note, occasioned by gains in the share prices of MTN and Dangote Cement by 7.05% and 1.19% respectively.
The All Share Index appreciated by 1.26% to close at 42,411.12 points from the previous close of 41,882.97 points.
Investors gained N276bn as the Market Capitalisation grew by 1.26% to close at N22.130 trillion from the previous close of N21.854 trillion.
At the close of trade on Monday, an aggregate of 229.64 million units were traded in 4,426 deals, valued at N3.29 billion.
The Market Breadth closed positive as 23 equities emerged as gainers while 16 equities declined in their share prices.
Percentage Gainers
Meyer Plc led other gainers with 9.09% growth, closing at N0.36 from the previous close of N0.33.
Academy Press and FTN Cocoa among other gainers also grew their share prices by 8.51% and 8.11% respectively.
Percentage Losers
NASCON Allied Industries led other price decliners as it shed 6.79% of its share price to close at N13.05 from the previous close of N14.
Cornerstone Insurance and Coronation Insurance among other price decliners also shed their share prices by 6.00% and 5.88% respectively
Volume Drivers
Unity Bank traded about 48.32 million units of its share in 139 deals, valued at N20.45 million.
Universal Insurance traded 21 million units of its shares in 7 deals, valued at N4.2 million
FBNH traded about 19.89 million units of its shares in 204 deals, valued at N235.19 million
