Stock market extends Gains, Closes by 1.01% higher

The Nigerian stock market on Tuesday extended the bullish trend as the All Share Index grew by 1.01% to close at 151,456.91 points from the previous close of 149,940.81 points.

The Market Capitalisation appreciated by 1.01% to close at N96.134 trillion from the previous close of N95.172 trillion, thereby adding N962 billion.

An aggregate of 552 million units of shares were traded in 27,518 deals, valued at N20.5 billion.

The Market Breadth closed negative as 28 equities emerged as gainers against 30 equities that declined in their share prices.

Percentage Gainers

SCOA led other gainers with 7.74% growth to close at N7.10 from the previous close of 6.59.

OMATEK, Consolidated  Hallmark Holdings and BUAFOODS among other gainers also grew their share prices by 7.48%, 6.70% and 6.54% respectively.

Percentage Losers

Living Trust Insurance led other price decliners as it sheds 9.91% of its share price to close at N4.00 from the previous close of N4.44.

CONOIL and African Prudential among other price decliners also shed their share prices by 5.83% and 5.69% respectively.

Volume Drivers

Fidelity Bank traded about 59 million units of its shares in 596 deals, valued at N1.2 billion.

VFDGROUP traded about 39 million units of its shares in 177 deals, valued at N425 million.

JAPAULGOLD traded about 27 million units of its shares in 201 deals, valued at N95 million.
