Stock market extends Gains, Closes by 0.14% higher

The Nigerian stock market on Monday closed higher as the All Share Index grew by 0.14% to close at 98,386.60 points from the previous close of 98,247.99 points.

The Market Capitalisation appreciated by 0.14% to close at N56.536 trillion from the previous close of N56.457 trillion, thereby adding N79 billion.

An aggregate of 810 million units of shares were traded in 10,669 deals, valued at N8 billion.

The Market Breadth closed positive as 32 equities emerged as gainers against 20 equities that declined in their share prices.

Percentage Gainers

FCMB and MCNICHOLS led other gainers with 10.00% growth each to close at N8.80 and N1.87 from N8.00 and N1.70 respectively.

Fidelity Bank, TANTALIZER and Flourmills of Nigeria among other gainers also grew their share prices by 9.93%, 9.84%, and 9.81%respectively.

Percentage Losers

Berger Paints led other price decliners as it sheds 9.83% of its share price to close at N21.10 from the previous close of N23.40.

DAAR COMMUNICATION and DEAPCAP among other price decliners also shed their share prices by 9.33% and 9.09% respectively.

Volume Drivers

TRANSCORP traded about 67 million units of its shares in 306 deals, valued at N727 million.

Fidelity Bank traded about 43 million units of its shares in 415 deals, valued at N640 million.

ACCESSCORP traded about 25 million units of its shares in 821 deals, valued at N474 million.
