Stock market extends gains, closes by 0.12% higher

The Nigerian stock market on Tuesday extended its bullish trend as the All Share Index grew by 0.12% to close at 146,055.16 points from the previous close of 145,880.77 points.

The Market Capitalisation appreciated by 0.12% to close at N92.405 trillion from the previous close of N92.294 trillion, thereby adding N111 billion.

An aggregate of 1.28 billion units of shares were traded in 31,155 deals, valued at N24.3 billion.

The Market Breadth closed positive as 50 equities emerged as gainers against 29 equities that declined in their share prices.

Percentage Gainers

Prestige Assurance, ABC Transport, THE INITIATES, WAPIC, Sunu Assurance, MANSARD, ELLAHLAKES and Champion Breweries led other gainers with 10.00% growth each.

Julius Berger, Mutual Benefits and VERITAS KAPITAL among other gainers also grew their share prices by 9.99%, 9.97% and 9.96% respectively.

Percentage Losers

Juli led other price decliners as it shed 10.00% of its share price to close at N9.00 from the previous close of N10.00.

UNILEVER and CUSTODIAN among other price decliners also shed their share prices by 9.97% and 9.55% respectively.

Volume Drivers

LASACO traded about 107 million units of its shares in 568 deals, valued at N439 million.

JAPAULGOLD traded about 107 million units of its shares in 710 deals, valued at N439 million.

Sterling Bank traded about 98 million units of its shares in 632 deals, valued at N784 million.
