Trading activities on the floor of the Nigerian Stock Exchange on Tuesday closed positive as the All Share Index grew 0.19%, closing at 37,017.78 points as against the previous close of 36,946.18 points on Monday.
Market capitalisation closed at 13.410 trillion, advancing by 0.19% from the previous close of N13.384 trillion.
Volume of traded stocks declined by 23.31% closing at 244.97 million units; while value appreciated by 47.45% to close at N4.49 billion.
Market Breadth
17 stocks gained while 24 stocks lost bringing the market breadth to a negative round off.
Percentage Gainers
Equity Assurance led other percentage gainers closing 10% above the previous close of 20 kobo to close at 22 kobo.
The share prices of Prestige Assurance and Mutual Benefit Assurance grew 9.62% and 9.09% respectively. Other stocks that grew above 5% of their share include Neimeth, Union Diagnostics, Nestle and Champion Breweries.
Percentage Losers
Okomu Oil and Diamond Bank both led the losers’ shedding 10% of their share prices.
Jaiz Bank, Transcorp, PZ, and Wapic shed 9.38%, 6.98%, 5.63%, 5% respectively.
Volume Drivers
The most actively traded stock is Guaranty Trust Bank, trading about 39.65 million units of its shares in 222 deals, valued at N1.6 billion.
