It was yet another bearish session on the floor of the Nigerian stock market on Thursday as downtrend extended on profit taking by investors to four straight sessions.
The All Share Index dropped by 0.38% to close at 97,651.23 points from the previous close of 98,023.23 points.
The Market Capitalisation declined by 0.38% to close at N59.172 trillion from the previous close of N59.397 trillion, thereby shedding N225 billion.
An aggregate of 536.8 million units of shares were traded in 9,053 deals, valued at 10 billion.
The Market Breadth closed negative as 24 equities emerged as gainers against 26 equities that declined in their share prices.
Percentage Gainers
Sunu Assurance led other gainers with 10.00% growth to close at N2.09 from the previous close of 1.90.
EUNISELL, University Press and Cornerstone Insurance among other gainers also grew their share prices by 9.89%, 9.74% and 9.60% respectively.
Percentage Losers
VERITA KAPITAL and ARADEL led other price decliners as they shed 10.00% each of their share prices to close at N1.44 and N495.10 from the previous close of N1.60 and N550.10
Secure Electronic Technology and RTBRISCOE among other price decliners also shed their share prices by 9.09% and 8.96% respectively.
Volume Drivers
UBA traded about 74 million units of its shares in 512 deals, valued at N2.2 billion.
UACN traded about 55 million units of its shares in 94 deals, valued at N1.2 billion.
CHAMS traded about 53 million units of its shares in 105 deals, valued at N109 million.
