Stock market extends decline, Closes lower by 0.38%

The Nigerian stock market on Thursday declined further as the All Share Index was down by 0.38% to close at 153,676.66 points from the previous close of 154,260.98 points.

The Market Capitalisation dropped by 0.38% to close at N97.543 trillion from the previous close of N97.914 trillion, thereby shedding N371 billion.

An aggregate of 796 million units of shares were traded in 28,944 deals, valued at N35 billion.

The Market Breadth closed negative as 20 equities emerged as gainers against 39 equities that declined in their share prices.

Percentage Gainers

OANDO led other gainers with 9.99% growth to close at N46.80 from the previous close of N42.55

ASOSAVINGS and AIICO Insurance among other gainers also grew their share prices by 9.30% and 5.26% respectively.

Percentage Losers

CADBURY, CHAMS and International Breweries led other price decliners as they shed 10.00% each of their share prices.

LEARNAFRICA and NAHCO among other price decliners also shed their share prices by 9.92% and 9.49% respectively.

Volume Drivers

GTCO traded about 98 million units of its shares in 1537 deals, valued at N8.7 billion.

ASOSAVING traded about 75 million units of its shares in 173 deals, valued at N70.9 million.

CHAMS traded about 25 million units of its shares in 664 deals, valued at N87 million.
