Stock market declines by 0.12% as 29 stocks shed weight

Nigerian stock market on Tuesday declined as 29 stocks led by GUINNESS shed weight

The All Share Index dropped by 0.12% to close at 97,584.81 points from the previous close of 97,706.70 points.

The Market Capitalisation declined by 0.12% to close at N56.076 trillion from the previous close of N56.146 trillion, thereby shedding N70 billion.

An aggregate of 719 million units of shares were traded in 9,435 deals, valued at N8.3 billion.

The Market Breadth closed negative as 26 equities emerged as gainers against 29 equities that declined in their share prices.

Percentage Gainers

Regency Alliance led other gainers with 10.00% growth to close at N0.55 from the previous close of 0.50.

PZ, CUTIX and DEAPCAP among other gainers also grew their share prices by 8.78%, 5.60% and 5.59% respectively.

Percentage Losers

GUINNESS led other price decliners as it shed 10.00% of its share price to close at N61.20 from the previous close of N68.00.

African Prudential, International Breweries and CWG among other price decliners also shed their share prices by 9.86%, 9.07% and 6.98% respectively.

Volume Drivers

WAPIC traded about 402 million units of its share in 28 deals, valued at N321.8 million.

Fidelity Bank traded about 50 million units of its shares in 706 deals, valued at N760 million.

ACCESSCORP traded about 24 million units of its shares in 379 deals, valued at N501 million.
