Stock market closes bearish as NGXASI declines by 0.11%

The Nigerian Stock Exchange Market on Friday closed on a bearish note as the All Share Index declined by 0.11% to close at 47,279.92 points from the previous close of 47,329.80 points.

Investors lost N27 billion as the Market Capitalisation dropped by 0.11% to close at N25.477 trillion from the previous close of N25.504 trillion.

At the close of trade on Friday, an aggregate of 225.7 million units were traded in 4,093 deals, valued at N2.4 billion.

The Market Breadth closed negative as 18 equities emerged as gainers while 24 equities declined in their share prices.

Percentage Gainers

SCOA led other gainers with 9.65% growth to close at N1.25 from the previous close of N1.14.

Living Trust Insurance, Jaiz Bank, Guinea Insurance, Champion Breweries, Veritas Kapital and Honeywell flour above other gainers also grew their share prices by over 4.00%.

Percentage Losers

PRESCO led other price decliners as it shed 10.00% of its share price to close at N94.50 from the previous close of N105.00

Nem Insurance and International Breweries among other price decliners also shed their share prices by 9.76% and 9.40% respectively

Volume Drivers

Fidelity traded about 25 million units of its share in 138 deals, valued at N71 million.

RT BRISCOE traded 23.6 million units of its shares in 111 deals, valued at about N7 million.

TRANSCORP traded about 16 million units of its shares in 117 deals, valued at N18.5 million.
