Stock market closes lower by 0.05%, sheds N12bn

Transactions on the floor of the Nigerian Exchange closed on a negative note as the All Share Index declined by 0.05% to close at 43,707.30 points from the previous close of 43,730.55 points.

The Market Capitalisation declined by 0.05% to close at N22.809 trillion from the previous close of N22.821 trillion, thereby shedding N12 billion.

An aggregate of 270.7 million units of shares were traded in 3,861 deals, valued at N5.627 billion.

The Market Breadth closed negative as 18 equities emerged as gainers against 19 equities that declined in their share prices.

Percentage Gainers

Neimeth led other gainers with 10% growth, closing at N1.98 from the previous close of N1.80.

Chams Plc, Mutual Benefit and Honeywell Flour among other gainers also grew there share prices by 9.09%, 8.00% and 6.95% respectively.

Percentage Losers

Red Star Express led other price decliners as it sheds 9.86% of its share price to close at N3.29 from the previous close of N3.65.

Pharmadeko among other price decliners also shed its share price by 9.83% to close at N2.11 from the previous close N2.34.

Volume Drivers

Flour Mills traded about 50.595 million units of its shares in 54 deals, valued at N1.475 billion.

Transcorp traded about 38.92 million units of its shares in 120 deals, valued at N39.25 million.

FBNH traded about 21.49 million units of its shares in 199 deals, valued at N243.68 million.
