Stock market closes bullish, up by 3.00%

The Nigerian stock market on Wednesday closed on a bullish note as the All Share Index was up by 3.00% to close at 101,571.11 points from the previous close of 98,616.97 points.

The Market Capitalisation grew by 3.00% to close at N55.584 trillion from the previous close of N53.967 trillion, thereby adding N1.617 trillion.

An aggregate of 488 million units of shares were traded in 12,080 deals, valued at N8 billion.

The Market Breadth closed positive as 35 equities emerged as gainers against 32 equities that declined in their share prices.

Percentage Gainers

WAPIC led other gainers with 10.00% growth to close at N0.88 from the previous close of 0.80.

BUACEMENT, JAPAULGOLD and University Press among other gainers also grew their share prices by 9.98%, 9.91% and 9.82% respectively.

Percentage Losers

Nem Insurance led other price decliners as it shed 10.00% of its share price to close at N7.20 from the previous close of N8.00.

CADBURY, THE INITIATES PLC and May & Baker among other price decliners also shed their share prices by 9.96%, 9.92% and 9.89% respectively.

Volume Drivers

TRANSCORP traded about 95 million units of its shares in 1,207 deals, valued at N1,59 billion.

University Insurance traded about 45.6 million units of its shares in 168 deals, valued at N18.6 million.

Unity Bank traded about 27 million units of its shares in 223 deals, valued at N74 million.
