Stock market closes bullish, up by 0.42%

The Nigerian stock market on Thursday closed bullish as the All Share Index grew by 0.42% to close at 139,863.52 points from the previous close of 139,278.67 points.

The Market Capitalisation grew by 0.42% to close at N88.425 trillion from the previous close of N88.055 trillion, thereby adding N370 billion.

An aggregate of 1.1 billion units of shares were traded in 37,370 deals, valued at N33.6 billion.

The Market Breadth closed negative as 28 equities emerged as gainers against 54 that declined in their share prices.

Percentage Gainers

Wema Bank and UACN led other gainers with 10.00% growth each to close at N22.00 and N80.30 from the previous close of N20.00 and N73.00

GUINNESS and Sky Aviation among other gainers also grew their share prices by 9.96% and 9.95% respectively.

Percentage Losers

MANSARD, LEARNAFRICA, FTN COCOA and THE INITIATES led other price decliners as they shed 10.00% each of their share prices to close above the previous.

Ikeja Hotel and NPF Microfinance Bank among other price decliners also shed their share prices by 9.96% and 9.94% respectively.

Volume Drivers

FCMB traded about 122 million units of its shares in 713 deals, valued at N1.2 million.

Universal Insurance traded about 92 million units of its shares in 171 deals, valued at N72 million.

Fidelity Bank traded about 81 million units of its shares in 789 deals, valued at N1.7 billion
