The Nigerian stock market on Wednesday closed bearish as the All Share Index was down by 0.17% to close at 52,207.77 points from the previous close of 52,296.48 points.
The Market Capitalisation declined by 0.17% to close at N28.427 trillion from the previous close of N28.476 trillion, thereby shedding N49 billion.
An aggregate of 670 million units of shares were traded in 6,254 deals, valued at N5 billion.
The Market Breadth closed positive as 22 equities emerged as gainers against 18 that declined in their share prices.
Percentage Gainers
ARDOVA led other gainers with 9.25% growth to close at N18.30 from the previous close of N16.75
Academy Press, CUTIX and RTBRISCOE among other gainers also grew their share prices by 8.90%, 8.89% and 8.33% respectively.
Percentage Losers
TRANSCORP led other price decliners as it shed 9.49% of its share price to close at N2.29 from the previous close of N2.53.
International Energy Insurance, Union Bank of Nigeria and FCMB among other price decliners also shed their share prices by 8.87%, 7.79% and 7.28% respectively.
Volume Drivers
TRANSCORP traded about 276.5 million units of its shares in just 483 deals, valued at N631 million.
ACCESSCORP traded about 174 million units of its shares in 1,054 deals, valued at N1.8 billion.
Fidelity Bank traded about 31 million units of its shares in 175 deals, valued at N175 million.
