Stock market closes bearish, down by 0.12%

The Nigerian stock market on Wednesday closed bearish as the All Share Index was down by 0.12% to close at 100,365.17 points from the previous close of 100,486.12 points.

The Market Capitalisation declined by 0.12% to close at N56.380 trillion from the previous close of N56.899 trillion, thereby shedding N69 billion.

An aggregate of 497.8 million units of shares were traded in 8,412 deals, valued at N8.6 billion.

The Market Breadth closed negative as 17 equities emerged as gainers against 21 that declined in their share prices.

Percentage Gainers

Sovereign Trust Insurance and International Breweries led other gainers with 10.00% growth to close at N0.55 and N4.07 respectively.

DEAPCAP, THE INITIATES and FCMB among other gainers also grew their share prices by 9.80%, 7.50% and 5.26% respectively.

Percentage Losers

Secure Electronic Technology led other price decliners as it shed 9.43% of its share price to close at N0.48 from the previous close of 0.53.

RTBRISCOR, UBA and Livestock Feeds among other price decliners also shed their share prices by 8.22%, 5.07% and 4.56% respectively.

Volume Drivers

FCMB traded about 133.9 million units of its shares in just 160 deals, valued at N1 billion.

ACCESSCORP traded about 73 million units of its shares in 815 deals, valued at N1.4 billion.

Zenith Bank traded about 60 million units of its shares in 762 deals, valued at N2.2 billion.
