The Nigerian stock market last week closed higher, driven by gains in the prices of 51 stocks that appreciated.
The All Share Index and Market capitalization soared by 0.72% to settle at 98,210.75 and N59.534 trillion respectively. Investors gained N427 billion.
An aggregate of 3.89 billion units of shares were traded in 43,867 deals, valued at N17.46 billion.
The market breadth closed positive as 51 stocks gained against 30 stocks that declined in their share prices.
TOP 10 GAINERS
Golden Breweries led other gainers last week with 45.95% growth, closing at N5.40 from the previous close of N3.70.
Sunu Assurance, WAPCO, Secure Electronic Technology and Cornerstone Insurance grew their share prices by 29.49%, 27.59%, 27.27% and 25.00% respectively.
Other top 10 gainers include: Consolidated Hallmark Holdings 25.00%, African Prudential 20.00%, Abbey Building 16.67%, Beta Glass 16.31% and LASACO 15.96% respectively.
TOP 10 LOSERS
LEARNAFRICA led other price decliners, shedding 11.75% of its share price to close at N2.93 from the previous close of N3.32.
ARADEL, Redstar Express, ETRANZACT and JOHNHOLT shed 10.06%, 10.00%, 10.00% and 9.98% respectively.
Other price decliners include: DAAR COMMUNICATION (6.56%), Prestige Assurance (6.25%), HMCALL (5.65%), VITAFOAM (5.53%) and THE INITIATES (4.89%) respectively.
