Stanbic IBTC Holdings Appoints Ms. Nkemdilim Uwaje as Non-Executive Director

The Board of Directors of Stanbic IBTC Holdings PLC   has announced the appointment of Ms. Nkemdilim Uwaje as a Non-Executive Director with effect from 18 November 2019 following the receipt of all required regulatory approvals.

 

Ms. Uwaje began her professional career in Germany, where she worked on high profile research projects at the Max Planck Institute (MPI) for Psychiatric Research in the department for Statistical Genetics and Proteomics, as well as for the Pharmaceutical Company Affect is Pharmaceuticals AG, Germany.

She graduated from the Ludwig Maximilian University (LMU) & Technical University Munich (TUM), Germany, where she received a BSc. Hons in Bioinformatics. Her entrepreneurial journey really started with Future Software Resources Limited, and she has been at the helm of the business ever since.

 

Prior to her appointment at Future Software Resources Nigeria Ltd, Ms. Uwaje was involved in various research projects, such as the Wazobia Linux initiative, the eGovernment Interoperability Framework, NITDA Open Standards Framework, as well as the deployment of e-commerce and e-portal solutions in the Nigerian public and private sector.

 

Respected and recognized as a leader in her industry, Ms. Uwaje has been in the IT/tech business for about 10 years. She’s a recipient of many awards including the Jim Ovia Prize for Software Excellence and the Etisalat Prize for Innovation. She regularly volunteers for mentoring and empowerment programmes often sharing her experiences with young Nigerians and less privileged children.
