Okomu appoints Amina Maina as Independent Non-Executive Director

The Board of Directors of the Okomu Oil Palm Company Plc has announced the appointment of Mrs. Amina Maina as an Independent Non-Executive Director with effect from the 16th of October 2025, subject to ratification at the next Annual General Meeting of the Company

Mrs. Amina is a distinguished business executive with over two decades of leadership experience spanning the energy, trading, and investment sectors. She is recognized for her strategic vision, operational excellence, and commitment to corporate governance and sustainable growth across Africa.

Mrs. Amina holds a B.Sc. in Business Administration from Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, and has undertaken several executive education programs at world-renowned institutions, including Harvard Business School (Program for Leadership Development) and INSEAD Business School (Certificate in Global Management, Competitive Strategy, and Leadership in Disruptive Times).

Mrs. Amina currently serves as Executive Chairperson of Eyrie Group. Prior to this, she held several key positions at MRS Holdings Limited, including Group Chief Operating Officer, Group Executive Director, and Executive Director, Marketing. Her career also includes roles in Ovlas Trading SA, Energy Solutions Integrated Services Ltd, and Aurora Energy Trading Ltd.

Her board memberships include serving as an Independent Member of the Governing Council of the Midstream and Downstream Gas Infrastructure Fund (North-East), Member of the Presidential Economic Coordination Council (PECC), and Board Chairman of Next Gen Infraco Limited (NGIC). She is also the Third Vice Chairman of the Nigerian Economic Summit Group (NESG) and sits on the boards of MRS Benin and First Mutual Microfinance Bank.

A fellow of both the Institute of Management Consultants and the Energy Institute, Mrs. Amina is also a Member of the Institute of Directors, the Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE), and a Founding Member of the Women in Energy Network (WIEN).
