Oando led other 38 stocks to help bourse stay 2.46% afloat

The Nigerian Bourse on Tuesday extends gains from the previous trading session as the All Share Index grew 2.46%, closing at 37,854.92 points as against 36,974.10 points of Monday thereby gaining 907.82 points.

Market capitalisation appreciated by N329 billion to close at N13.712 trillion from the previous close of N13.383 trillion implying an increase of 2.46%

The volume of traded stocks increased by 8.03% closing at 339.6 million units; while value of traded stocks declined by 15.20% to settle at N5.9 billion in 4,436 deals.

Market Breadth

The market breadth for the day closed positive as 39 stocks gained against 15 that lost.

Percentage Gainers

Oando led other percentage gainers closing 9.84% above the previous close of N6.10 to settle at N6.70.

International Breweries grew 7.69% and Dangote sugar grew 6.38% ahead of other 36 stocks that made it to the green.

Percentage Losers

Consolidated Hallmark Insurance tops the losers’ chart losing 6.67% of its share price, followed by Royal Exchange, UACN and First Aluminium shedding 5.88%, 4.76% and 4.55% of their share prices.

Volume Drivers

Access has the highest traded volume of about 133million units, valued at about N1.4 billion in 210 deals.

Guaranty Trust Bank is the most actively traded stocks for the day, trading about 39 million units of its shares in 377 deals, worth about N1.6 billion.
