NSEASI extends decline, closes 0.88% lower, Thursday

Trading activities on the floor of the Nigerian Stock Exchange on Thursday closed in red as All Share Index extends decline from the previous trading session to close at 34,110.22 points from the previous close of 34,414.37 points on Wednesday, declining by 0.88%.

Market capitalisation declined by 0.88%, to close at N12.453 trillion from the previous close of N12.564 trillion on Wednesday.

All other indicators were also down as volume of traded stocks and value declined by 17.86% and 4.18% to close at 164.5 million units and N2.07 billion respectively in 3188 deals.

Market Breadth

19 stocks gained while 31 stocks declined, bringing the market breadth to a negative round off.

Percentage Gainers

AG Leventis Nigeria Plc led other percentage gainers, gaining 10% to close at N0.44 from the previous close of N0.40.

Fidson gained 9.09% to close at N6 from the previous close of N5.5.

Sovereign Trust Insurance and Royal Exchange Plc gained 8.70% and 8.33% respectively among others on the gainers chart.

Percentage Losers

 

Wapic Insurance Plc led other percentage losers, shedding 10% of its share price.

Eternal Plc, Law Union & Rock and Standard Alliance Insurance also shed 9.42%, 9.09% and 8.57% respectively among others on the losers’ chart.

Volume Drivers

Guaranty Trust Bank traded about 23.88 million units of its shares in 330 deals, valued at about N860.17 million.
