NSEASI dips further, closes lower by 0.99%, Tuesday

The Nigerian Equities market on Tuesday closed lower by 0.99% as the All Share Index closed at 30,226.77 points against the previous close of 30,527.50 points on Monday.

Market Capitalisation was down by 0.99% to close at N11.353 trillion against the previous close of N11.466 trillion, shedding N113 billion.

Aggregate volume and value of traded stocks closed at 376.95 million units and N4.54 billion in 4,018 deals.

Market Breadth

Market Breadth closed negative as 10 stocks gained while 28 stocks lost.

Percentage Gainers

Wema Bank and Sovereign Trust Insurance PLC both led other gainers with 10.00% growth to close at N0.77 and N0.22 respectively.

Ikeja Hotel and Dangote Sugar among other gainers also grew their share prices by 9.71% and 5.63% respectively.

Percentage Losers

Beta Glass tops the losers’ chart, shedding 9.95% of its share price to close at N58.35 from the previous close of N64.80.

Forte Oil, Nigerian Breweries, Vita Foam and Livestock Feeds among others on the price decliners’ list also shed 9.93%, 9.68%, 9.62% and 9.52% of their share prices resprctively.

Volume Drivers

 

  • FCMB traded about 53.88 million units of its shares in 111 deals, valued at about N99 million.
  • Sterling Bank and UBA also both traded about 41.4 million units of their shares respectively.
