NSEASI dips further, closes 0.61% lower, Thursday

Trading activities on the floor of the Nigerian Stock Exchange on Thursday closed in red as the All Share Index declined by 0.61% to close at 32,763.35 points from the previous close of 32,963.27 points on Wednesday.

Market capitalisation dropped by 0.61% to close at N11.961 trillion from the previous close of  N12.034 trillion on Wednesday, thereby shedding about N73 billion

Volume of traded stocks declined by 10.40% to close at 154.29 million units while value appreciated by 32.99%, closing at N2.73 billion.

Market Breadth

13 stocks closed positive against 21 stocks that closed negative, bringing the market breadth to a negative round off.

Percentage Gainers

First Aluminium Nigeria Plc and Royal Exchange Plc both led other percentage gainers, gaining 10% to close at N0.4 and N0.2 respectively.

Linkage Assurance and Prestige Assurance grew 9.37 and 8.7% respectively among others on the gainers’ chart.

Percentage Losers

ABC Transport  tops the losers’ chart, shedding 9.09% of its share price to close at N0.30

PZ and Honeywell Flour shed 4.81% and 4.76% respectively among others on the losers’ chart.

Volume Drivers

  • Nestle traded 904,565 units of its shares in 68 deals, valued at about N1.27 billion
  • Guaranty Trust Bank traded about 16.76 million units of its shares in 185 deals, valued at about N621.37 million.
