NSE confirms high-profile speakers for ASEA conference 2018

Ahead of the 22nd Annual African Securities Exchange Association (ASEA) Conference which has been slated to take place between November 26th and 27th in Lagos, the Nigerian Stock Exchange (NSE) has unveiled the names of the forty-four (44) renowned thought leaders and professionals who will be delivering keynote speeches to conference goers.

Some of the confirmed keynote speakers include the President of the African Development Bank, Dr Akinwunmi Adesina and the current Vice President and Treasurer of the World Bank, Ms Arumah Oteh.

Also speaking at the event are the Chairman of Davos International Advisory, Mr Oscar Silva; the Chief Executive Officer of Afreximbank, Mr Benedict Okey Oramah; the Director General of the Debt Management Office, Mrs Patience Oniha.

Others include Ms Nandini Sukumar, the CEO of World Federation of Exchanges; Mr Abimbola Ogunbanjo, the President of the Nigerian Stock Exchange, Mr Aigboje Aig-Imoukhuede, the Chairman of Coronation Capital, etc.

Note that many Ex-Officio of the Nigerian Stock Exchange (NSE) will also attend the event.

Meanwhile, the President of ASEA and CEO of the Nigerian Stock Exchange, Mr Oscar Onyeama has reacted to the list of keynote speakers, noting that their participation at the conference will encourage insightful and meaningful discussions.

Their experience will engender critical and insightful discussions at the conference aimed at accelerating sustainable growth in Africa, especially for African securities exchanges. We have launched a dedicated website to enable interested participants to register and make payment for the conference at their convenience. Personally, I am looking forward to the conference which will officially mark the end of my tenure as President of the African Securities Exchanges Association.” -Onyeama

Note that there will be about eleven sessions during the 2-day conference which has been themed Champions on the Rise: Africa’s Ascension to a More Sustainable Future.

Much focus will be on some of the important issues pertaining to Africa’s global competitiveness, inclusive growth, emerging technologies, and inclusive growth and others.

The conference will also be laying special emphasis on green growth, and the need for African Capital Markets to redefine business models in an era of customer centricity.
