The Nigerian stock market on Friday closed on a positive note as the All Share Index rose by 0.29% to close at 29,851.29 points from the previous close of 29,765.31 points on Thursday.
Market capitalisation closed at N13.155 trillion, gaining N38 billion from the previous close of N13.117 trillion.
Aggregate volume of traded stocks closed at 189.96 million units, valued at N4.16 billion in 3,089 deals.
Market Breadth
The market breadth closed positive as 24 stocks gained while 14 stocks declined in their share prices.
Percentage Gainers
WAPCO and GSK both led the gainers’ list with 10% growth on their share prices to close at N11.55 and N9.35 respectively.
Cutix Plc, Law Union & Rock Insurance, Linkage Assurance, Thomas Wyaat, Prestige Assurance among others also grew their prices by 8.89%, 8.70%, 8.20%, 8.11% and 8.00% respectively.
Percentage Losers
Chams Plc and ABC Transport among other price decliners shed their share prices by 8.82% and 6.90%.
Volume Drivers
- Zenith Bank traded about 29.65 million units of its shares in 401 deals, valued at N592.87 million.
- Guaranty Trust Bank about 22.42 million units of its shares in 131 deals, valued at N700 million.
