Nigerian stock market extends decline, closes 0.45%  lower

The Nigerian equities market on Monday closed in red as the All Share Index drops further by 0.45% to close at 30,930.39 points against the previous close of 31,069.37 points last Friday.

Market capitalisation closed at N13.622 trillion, shedding N63 billion from the previous close of N13.685 trillion.

Aggregate volume of traded stocks closed at 246.09 million units, valued at N2.82bn in 3,850 deals.

Market Breadth

The market breadth closed negative as 15 stocks gained while 28 stocks declined in their share prices.

 

Percentage Gainers

Champions Breweries with 9.9% growth led 14 other gainers to close at N1.11 from the previous close of N1.01.

University Press and Academy Press Plc among other gainers also grew their share prices by 9.44% and 8.00% respectively.

 

Percentage Losers

Glaxosmith, Ecobank Transnational International (ETI), Julius Berger and Oando among other price decliners shed their share prices by 10%, 9.87%, 9.85% and 9.52% respectively.

Volume Drivers

Guaranty Trust Bank traded about 33.987 million units of its share price in 183 deals, valued at N1.07 billion.
