Nigerian Market slides, closes 0.24% lower, Monday

The Nigerian Bourse on Monday declined from the previous trading session as the All Share Index fell by 0.24% to close at 32,048.18 points as against 32,124.94 points of the last trading session.

Market capitalization also dipped by 0.24% to settle at N11.700 trillion bellow N11.728 trillion recorded on Friday, indicating a loss of N28 billion.

Volume and value of traded stocks dropped by 33.99% while the value appreciated by 38.5%, standing at 157 million units and N1.7 billion respectively.

 

Market Breadth

17 stocks closed positive against 24 that closed negative, bringing the market breadth to a negative round off.

Percentage Gainers

Cadbury and UACN led other percentage gainers closing 10.00% each above their previous close of N9.00 to settle at N9.90 separately

PRESCO grew 9.86%, while MCNICHOLS, FIDSON and VERITAS KAPITAL gained 9.76%, 8.70% and 8.00% respectively.

Percentage Losers

CCNN tops the losers’ chart, losing 9.38% of its share price.

This is followed by NNFM, PRESTIGE and Niger Insurance all shedding 9.35%, 8.93% and 8.33% respectively.

Volume Drivers

Access Bank traded the highest volume of about 18 million units of its shares in 121 deals, valued at about N156 Million

Guaranty traded about 13 million units of its shares in 154 deals, worth about N498 million.
