Nigerian Market slides, closes 0.21% lower, Monday

The Nigerian Bourse on Monday declined from the previous trading session as the All Share Index fell by 0.21% to close at 30,609.06 points as against 30,672.79 points of the last trading session.
Market capitalization also dipped by 0.21% to settle at N11.181 trillion away from N11.204 trillion recorded on Friday, indicating a loss of N23 billion.


Volume and value of traded stocks dropped by 36.68% and 22.61%, closing the day at 214.9 million units and N1.7 billion respectively.

Market Breadth
17 stocks closed positive against 20 that closed negative, bringing the market breadth to a negative round off.

              Percentage Gainers


Diamond Bank led other percentage gainers closing 9.47% above its previous close of N0.95 to settle at N1.04.
Access Bank grew 9.40%, while CCNN, NPF Micro Finance Bank and FIDSON gained 9.24%, 8.51% and 7.61% respectively.

               Percentage Losers


Forte Oil tops the losers’ chart, losing 9.96% of its share price.
This is followed by Ikeja Hotel, Wema Bank and Linkage Assurance all shedding 9.63%, 8.47% and 8.33% respectively.

                Volume Drivers


Diamond Bank traded the highest volume of about 70 million units of its shares in 129 deals, valued at about N72 Million
Guaranty traded about 10 million units of its shares in 306 deals, worth about N363 million.
