The Nigerian stocks market on Thursday extended gains to five straight sessions as the All Share Index grew by 0.81% to settle at 46,604.94 points from the previous close of 46,232.37 points.
The Market Capitalisation was up by 0.80% to close at N25.384 trillion from the previous close of N25.182 trillion, thereby gaining N202 billion.
An aggregate of 138.6 million units of shares were traded in 3,434 deals, valued at N2.17 billion.
The Market Breadth closed negative as 16 equities appreciated in their share prices against 23 equities that declined in their share prices.
Percentage Gainers
AXA MANSARD led other gainers with 8.57% growth to close at N1.90 from the previous close of N1.75.
Nigerian Breweries, Ecobank and Airtel Africa among other gainers also grew their share prices by 6.79%, 6.50% and 6.30% respectively.
Percentage Losers
NESTLE and Redstar Express led price decliners’ table as they shed 10.00% each of their share prices to close at N1,071.41 and N2.07 from the previous close of N1,190.00 and N2.30 Respectively.
CWG and WAPCO among other price decliners also shed their share prices by 9.09% and 6.22% respectively.
Volume Drivers
Sterling Bank traded about 24 million units of its shares in 84 deals, valued at about N34.9 million.
TRANSCORP traded about 21.8 million units of its shares in 129 deals, valued at N25.7 million.
ACCESSCORP traded about 8.6 million units of its shares in 132 deals, valued at about N73.9 million.
