Nigerian equities market sheds more weight, closes 0.36% lower

The Nigerian equities market on Monday closed on a negative note as the All Share Index sheds more weight by 0.36% to close at 30,322.19 points against the previous close of 30,432.13 points on Friday.

Market capitalisation closed at N13.354 trillion, shedding N48 billion from the previous close of N13.402 trillion.

Aggregate volume of traded stocks closed at 247.39 million units, valued at N3.48 billion in 3,434 deals.

Market Breadth

The market breadth closed negative as 15 stocks gained while 20 stocks declined in their share prices.

Percentage Gainers

Consolidated Hallmark Insurance and UAC Properties both led other gainers with 10% growth to close at N0.22 and N1.65 respectively.

Sovereign Trust Insurance and Japaul Oil among others also grew their share prices by 8.70%, and 8.00% respectively.

Percentage Losers

Cement Company of Northern Nigeria (CCNN) and Unity Bank both shed 10% of their share prices among others to close at N13.50 and N0.63 respectively.

NAHCO, Courtville and Cutix Plc also shed their share prices by 9.73%, 9.09% and 8.75% respectively

Volume Drivers

Zenith Bank traded about 70.25 million units of its share price in 311 deals, valued at N1.4 billion.
