Nigerian Bourse sustains uptrend, gains N9bn

Transactions on the floor of the Nigerian Stock Exchange on Friday closed on a positive note as the All Share Index rises further by 0.07% to settle at 25,221.87 points from the previous close of 25,204.60 points on Thursday.

Investors gained N9 billion as Market Capitalisation grew by 0.07% to close at N13.158 trillion form the previous close of N13.149 trillion.

An aggregate of 158.62 million units of shares were traded in 3,194 deals, valued at N1.75 billion.

Market Breadth

The Market Breadth closed positive as 20 equities gained against 12 equities that declined in their share prices.

 

Percentage Gainers

LASACO led other percentage gainers with 10% growth, closing at N0.33 from the previous close of N0.30.

Champions Breweries, University Press and International Breweries among other gainers also grew their share prices by 9.83%, 9.73% and 9.09% respectively.

 

Percentage Losers

ABC Transport led other price decliners as it shed 6.98% of its share price to close at N0.40 from the previous close of N0.43.

UACN and Unity Bank among other decliners also shed their share prices by 5.98% and 3.70% respectively.

 

Volume Drivers

  • Zenith Bank traded about 19.08 million units of its shares in 339 deals, valued at N321.99 million.
  • FBN Holdings Plc traded about 17.09 million units of its shares in 175 deals, valued at N89.45 million.
  • Guaranty Trust Bank traded about 16.15 million units of its shares in 268 deals, valued at N408.79 million.
