Nigerian Bourse sheds N57bn as ASI decline by 0.10%

It was a bearish session on the floor of the Nigerian stock market on Wednesday as the All Share Index declined by 0.10% to close at 97,487.14 points against the previous close of 97,584.81 points on Tuesday.

The market capitalisation closed at N56.019 trillion, down by 0.10% from N56.076 trillion recorded in the last session.

Aggregate volume of traded stock stands at 356 million units in 8,582 deals, valued at N6.95 billion.

Market Breadth

The market breadth closed negative as 15 stocks gained against 38 that declined in their share prices.

Percentage Gainers

LASACO with 10.00% growth led the gainers to close at N2.53 from N2.30 previously recorded

MECURE and Julius Berger among other gainers also grew their share prices by 9.47% and 9.33% respectively.

Percentage Loser

ELLAHLAKES shed 9.84% of its share price to top the losers’ chart, ahead of ABC Transport, ETERNA and C & I Leasing which dropped in share value by 9.63%, 8.52% and 8.40% respectively.

Volume Drivers

Fidelity Bank traded about 66 million units of its shares in 279 deals, valued at about N988 million.

OANDO traded about 36 million units of its shares in 730 deals, valued at about N1.1 billion.
