Nigerian Bourse sheds N34bn as All Share Index closes 0.25% lower

The Nigerian stock market on Wednesday closed in red as the All Share Index dropped by 0.25% to close at 27,283.05 points against the previous close of 27,352.24 points on Tuesday.

Market capitalisation closed at N13.281 trillion, shedding N34 billion from the previous close of N13.315 trillion.

Aggregate volume of traded stocks closed at 462.3 million units, valued at N7.92 billion in 2,895 deals.

Market Breadth

The market breadth closed negative as 13 stocks gained, while 15 stocks declined in price.

Percentage Gainers

Continental Reinsurance led other gainers with 9.55% growth to close at N1.72 from the previous close of N1.57.

Custodian Investment Plc and Cornerstone Insurance among others both grew their share prices by 7.69% to close at N6.30 and N0.42 respectively.

Percentage Losers

Skyway Aviation, NPF Microfinance Bank and UAC Properties among other price decliners shed 9.89%, 9.34% and 9.38% respectively.

Volume Drivers

  • Access Bank traded about 133.5 million units of its shares in 362 deals, valued at about N926.4 million.
  • Nigerian Breweries traded about 71.09 million units of its shares in 85 deals, valued at about N3.73 billion.
