Nigerian Bourse sheds N28bn, as NSEASI closes lower by 0.22%

The Nigerian equities market on Monday closed on a negative note as the All Share Index dropped further by 0.22% to close at 26,390.08 points from the previous close of 26,448.62 points last week Friday.

Market Capitalisation closed at N12.847 trillion, shedding N28 billion from the previous close of N12.875 trillion.

Aggregate volume of traded stocks closed at 245.85 million units, valued at N1.36 billion in 2,514 deals.

Market Breadth

The market breadth closed negative as 9 stocks gained while 15 stocks declined in their share prices.

Percentage Gainers

May & Baker led the gainers’ list with 9.50% growth, closing at N2.19 from the previous close of N2.00. This is followed by Cornerstone Insurance, gaining 9.37% to close at N0.35 from the previous close of N0.32.

Union Diagnostics and Trans-Nationwide Express among others also both grew their share prices by 9.09% respectively.

Percentage Losers

NEM Insurance, Wapic Insurance and Neimeth among other price decliners shed their share prices by 9.57%, 8.57% and 7.50% respectively.

Volume Drivers

Omoluabi Mortgage Bank traded about 110 million units of its shares in just only one deal, valued at N60.5 million.
Guaranty Trust Bank traded about 13.6 million units of its shares in 234 deals, valued at N357.8 million.
