Nigerian Bourse sheds N22 billion as it closes 0.17% lower

The Nigerian equities market on Tuesday closed in red as the All Share Index declined by 0.17%, closing at points against the previous close of 26,990.59 points on Monday.

The Market Capitalisation closed at N13.005 trillion, shedding N22 billion from the previous close of N13.027 trillion.

Aggregate volume of traded stocks closed at 189 million units, valued at N2.88 billion in 3,314 deals.

Market Breadth

The market breadth closed negative as 13 stocks gained against 19 that declined in their share prices.

Percentage Gainers

Okomu Oil with 9.87% growth led other gainers to close at N54.55 from the previous close of N49.65.

E- Tranzact grew its share price by 9.66%, closing at N2.61 from the previous close of N2.38.

Royal Exchange and Wapic Insurance among other gainers also both grew their share prices by 8.33% respectively.

 

Percentage Losers

Ikeja Hotel, Champion Breweries and Law Union & Rocks Insurance among other price decliners shed their share prices by 9.73%, 8.82% and 8.45% respectively.

Volume Drivers

  • Access Bank traded about 35.4 million units of its shares in 356 deals, valued at N324 million.
  • Guaranty Trust Bank traded about 34.6 million units of its shares in 270 deals, valued at N1.048 billion.
  • Zenith Bank traded about 18.4 million units of its shares in 393 deals, valued at N342 million.
