Nigerian Bourse sheds N13bn as it closes lower by 0.10%, Tuesday

Trading activities on the floor of the Nigerian Stock Exchange on Tuesday closed in red as the All Share Index fell by 0.10% to close at 26,375.35 points against the previous close of 26,401.06 points on Monday.

Market Capitalisation closed at N12.839 trillion, shedding N13 billion from the previous close of N12.852 trillion on Monday.

Aggregate volume of traded stocks closed at 304.28 million units, valued at N3.99 billion in 3,091 deals.

 

Market Breadth

The Market Breadth closed positive as 17 stocks gained while 9 stocks declined in their share prices.

 

Percentage Gainers

Law Union & Rock Insurance led 16 other stocks with 9.52% growth to close at N0.46 from the previous close of N0.42.

Unity Bank, Consolidated Hallmark Insurance and Ecobank among other gainers also grew their share prices by 9.43%, 7.89% and 7.69 respectively.

Percentage Losers

UAC Properties and Honeywell Flour among other price decliners shed their share prices 9.35% and 5.77% respectively.

 

Volume Drivers

  • Law Union & Rock Insurance traded about 70.4 million units of its shares in 4 deals, valued at N29.57 million.
  • UBA traded about 51.8 million units of its shares in 281 deals, valued at N335.4 million.
  • Zenith Bank traded about 50.4 million units of its shares in 519 deals, valued at N877 million.
