Nigerian Bourse sheds N59bn, closes lower by 0.26%

It was bearish session on the floor of the Nigerian Exchange on Friday as the All Share Index declined by 0.26% to close at 46,842.68 points against the previous close of 46,965.48 points on Thursday.

The market capitalisation also closed at N25.253 trillion, shedding 59 billion from N25.312 trillion recorded yesterday.

Aggregate volume at end of today’s session grew by 0.51% to 257 million units while the traded stocks valued at N2.86 billion in 4,586 deals.

Market Breadth

The market breadth closed negative as 12 stocks gained against 37 that declined in their share prices.

Percentage Gainers

NAHCO with 10.00% growth, led the gainers table to close at N4.29 from the previous close of N3.90.

MULTIVERSE and MEYER among other gainers also grew their share prices by 9.52% and 9.09% respectively.

Percentage Losers

Red Star Express, TOTAL and Conoil among other 34 stocks shed their share prices by 10.00%, 9.97%, and 9.92% respectively.

Volume Drivers

UBA traded about 48 million units of its shares in 150 deals, valued at about N369.7 million.

Fidelity traded about 46 million units of its shares in 337 deals, valued at about N158.8 million.

Zenith Bank traded about 24 million units of its shares in 396 deals, valued at N541 million.
