Nigerian Bourse returns -2.03% WtD as 45 equities shed weight

The Nigerian stock market last week closed on a bearish note as as 45 equities shed weights.

The All Share Index and Market capitalization declined by 2.03% to settle at 97,432.02 and N59.039 trillion from 99,448.91 and N60.261 respectively.

An aggregate of 2.7 billion units of shares were traded in 46,848 deals, valued at N54.6 billion.

The market breadth closed negative as only 39 stocks gained against 45 stocks that declined in their share prices, week on week.

TOP 10 GAINERS

TRANSCORP led other gainers in the course of last week with 314.03% growth, closing at N45.75 from the previous close of N11.05.

EUNISELL, JOHNHOLT, University Press and Livestock Feeds grew their share prices by 60.57%, 20.00%, 18.28% and 12.32% respectively.

Others among the top 10 gainers include: Northern Nigeria Flourmills 11.76%, SKYAVIATION 10.00%, VITAFOAM 10.00%, Sunu Assurance 10.00% and Conoil 9.14% respectively.

TOP 10 LOSERS

ARADEL led other price decliners, shedding 25.75% of its share price to close at N445.60 from the previous close of N600.10.

CAVERTON, ELLAHLAKES, Regency Alliance and Royal Exchange shed 20.00%, 12.59%, 12.50% and 11.27% respectively.

Other price decliners include: VERITAS KAPITAL (11.25%), BUACEMENT (11.09%), LASACO (10.84%), Guinea Assurance (10.00%) and CADBURY (9.89%) respectively.
