Nigerian Bourse recovers, advances by 0.23%

The Nigerian Bourse recovered from the previous marginal decline of 0.06% on Tuesday, advanced by 0.23%.


The All Share Index soared by 0.23% closing at 54,315.53 points against the previous close of 54,189.31 points.


Investors gained N69 billion as market capitalisation also soared to N29.589 trillion from N29.520 trillion of the previous session.

The volume and value of traded stocks stood at 129.9 million units and N3.9 billion in 2,678 deals.

Market Breadth
18 stocks closed positive against 11 that declined, bringing the market breadth to a positive round up

Percentage Gainers

GEREGU led the gainers chart with 10.00% growth to close at N246.40 above the previous close of N224.00.

JOHNHOLT, Living Trust Insurance, University Press, Veritas Kapitals and TRANSCORP among other gainers also grew their share prices by over 4.00% each.

Percentage Losers

MCNICHOLS led other price decliners, shedding 9.84% of its share price to close at N0.55 from the previous close of N0.61.

WAPIC, Royal Exchange and Mutual Benefits also shed their share prices by 6.82%, 6.67% and 5.88% respectively.

Volume Drivers

Zenith Bank traded about 13 million units of its shares in 212 deals, valued at N326 million.

GTCO traded about 12 million units of its shares in 156 deals, valued at about N311 million.
