Nigerian Bourse advances by 0.02%, investors gain N8bn

The Nigerian Bourse on Monday recovered from the previous marginal decline of 0.09% on Friday, advanced by 0.02%.


The All Share Index soared by 0.02% closing at 72,404.91 points against the previous close of 72,389.23 points.

Investors gained N8 billion as market capitalisation also grew to N39.621 trillion from N39.613 trillion of the previous session.

The volume and value of traded stocks stood at 324 million units and N4.4 billion in 6,745 deals.

Market Breadth
18 stocks closed positive against 33 that declined, bringing the market breadth to a negative round up

Percentage Gainers

INFINITY led the gainers chart with 9.93% growth to close at N3.10 above the previous close of N2.82.

JOHNHOLT, Transcorp Hotel, SCOA and FTN Cocoa among other gainers also grew their share prices by over 8.00% each.

Percentage Losers

ABC Transport led other price decliners, shedding 9.89% of its share price to close at N0.82 from the previous close of N0.91.

ETRANZACT, RT BRISCOE and Sovereign Trust Insurance also shed their share prices by 9.42%, 8.33% and 7.69% respectively.

Volume Drivers

UBA traded about 28.7 million units of its shares in 475 deals, valued at N689.9 million.

TRANSCORP traded about 24 million units of its shares in 261 deals, valued at about N167 million.
