The Nigerian equities market on Monday closed on a positive note as the All Share Index grew further by 0.73% to close at 26,609.34 points away from the previous close of 26,416.48 points on Friday.
Market capitalisation grew by 0.73%, closing at N12.846 trillion away from the previous close of N12.753 trillion. This implies a gain of N93 billion at the close of trade to day.
Volume of traded stocks grew by 72.04% to close at 382.8 million units against the previous close of 222.5 million units on Friday.
At the close of trade, value of traded stocks grew by 136.39%, closing at N7.2 billion away from the previous close of N3.04 billion. Total number of deals was also up by 26.46%, closing at 3,212 deals.
Market Breadth
The market Breadth closed positive as 24 stocks gained while 12 stocks declined in their share prices.
Percentage Gainers
Union Diagnostics, Eternal Oil and NEM Insurance led the gainers chart with 10% growth repectively.
UAC Properties, Wema Bank and UPDC Real Estate Investment Trust among other gainers grew their share prices by 9.78%, 9.37% and 9.30% respectively.
Percentage Losers
C&I Leasing, Learn Africa and Union Bank among other price decliners shed their share prices by 10%, 9.60% and 9.56% respectively.
Volume Drivers
Transcorp traded about 138.9 million units of its shares in 81 deals, valued at about N137.3 million.
Guaranty Trust Bank traded about 48.36 million units of its shares in 149 deals, valued at about N1.4 billion.
Access Bank traded about 45 million units of its shares in 245 deals, valued at about N437.58 million.
