Nigerian Bourse gains N7bn, closes 0.06% higher

The Nigerian equities market on Monday closed on a positive note as the All Share Index rose by 0.06% to close at 29,287.87 points from the previous close of 29,270.95 points last Friday.

Market capitalisation closed at N12.909 trillion, gaining N7bn from the previous close of N12.902 trillion.

Aggregate volume of traded stocks for the day was 216.3 million units, valued at N2.27 billion in 3,206 deals.

Market Breadth

The market breadth closed positive as 17 stocks gained while 14 stocks lost.

Percentage Gainers

Flour Mills Nigeria Plc with 10% growth led other gainers to close at N16.50 from the previous close of N15.00.

Unity Bank, Red Star Express and Wema Bank among other gainers also grew their share prices by 9.68%, 9.09% and 8.20% respectively.

Percentage Losers

Forte Oil and GSK led the price decliners’ list, shedding 10% and 9.80% of their share prices respectively.

Volume Drivers

 

Wapic Insurance traded about 84.9 million units of its shares, being the highest volume for the day in 30 deals, valued at N33.98 million.

Zenith Bank traded about 14.7 million units of its shares in 324 deals, valued at N282.3 million.
